Jules' Quote Picks

Cynthia Kersey has been writing about Unstoppable People for over a decade and found that living an unstoppable life always involves giving. People who give and are involved in a purpose that is greater than themselves are the happiest people and live the richest and most meaningful lives imaginable...

Is there life before coffee?

Nope. I had a huge mug of my nescafe o kosong kow punya... Now, though the flesh is still weak, but the spirit is pumping!

This was the best whole family pix we managed, plus our 2 nephews in the striped rugger shirts, Faiz and Raziq. You can't see Damascus's face coz he's busy poking me and Esfahan with his plastic cake knife!

...well, perhaps, this pix isn't too bad either...

...thanks wiz, for the wondrous cakes, and the pix :)

JulesAddiction : Tins
O, o, o...I must share this! At the Hospis Charity Bazaar, I met a fellow booth owner, who bought one of my tins. And she told me that she actually loves tins, and boxes and paperbags, and that she collects all those that she falls in love with! Yay! I found a kindred soul!

JulesAddiction : Handbags
...my picks this round...

Dear Jules,

I thought I should share this with you...

The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.

A group of graduates, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor.

Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee, the professor said: 'If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the simple and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups.... Then you began eyeing each other's cups.'

Now consider this, said the professor, 'Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are thecups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us. Enjoy your coffee!'

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.. Four things to take note of in life...

1. Live simply.
2. Love generously.
3. Care deeply.
4. Speak kindly.

Shine a light & enjoy your Coffee today!

dear rosniah,

thanks so much for sharing this lovely story. yup, it's true, we always tend to strive for things we don't yet have, instead of wanting those that we already have.

and i personally feel very strongly about the "love generously" point... :)
